Moments of faith in the morning

(07.06.2014) the chamber choir of Wilhelmshaven arranged a reflective moment in the morning. The performance under the header „moments of faith 2“ was one of several starting points into the second day to the International Church Convention (ICC) of the New Apostolic Church in Munich.

"Moments of faith" is a number of CD productions, which has been started by the publisher Friedrich Bischoff together with the north-German choir leaded by Gerrit Junge. You can hear compositions, remakes and adaptions of especially young new apostolic artists. After the successful start in 2012 there has been published the second CD last autumn.

As the conductor Gerrit Junge explained to the audience, the choir recruited together with its string quartet the program for the ICC-performance mainly out of it. The congestion was that much, that not all interested persons could be allowed to enter the hall.

With its warm, harmonic sound the chamber choir pampered its audience a three-forth hour. The repertoire went from the calm "O Friede, Gottes Friede" penned by Julia Maier via the keen "Darf ich wiederkommen" (Jan Radzuweit) to the point of the touching "Mein Liebstes fehlt mir sehr" (Manfred Ullmann).

Extra awesome was also the piano accompanied "Herr, bleib bei mir" (William Henry Monk/Simon Kapser) with its strong interplay from female and male voices as well as the looped "Du allein bist meine Zuflucht" (Martin Selke/Mark-Alexander Heilmann). Finally the singers and instrumentalists let hear two pieces of the first Moments of faith CD: "Licht nach dem Dunkel" (Julia Maier) and "Schenk deinen Frieden" (Sigi Hänger). The audience thanked with standing ovations.
